African Artist Making More Than a Statement {Necklace} #ICFF

During my trip to New York last week, I had the opportunity to attend the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) as a part of Blogfest2012.  While there I stumbled upon a group of British-based African artists who were exhibiting at the show.  They were a part of the British European Design Group (BEDG) that gives artists international exposure through a series of programs and events.  I was originally drawn to their booth by the art, but quickly found myself gravitating to these handmade necklaces by Anita Quansah.  For me, they stole the show.  Just look at the detail and the use of color. Simply stunning!  I love the gold accent used in the layering and her selection of just the right beads.  Amazing.
