Lily Pulitzer for the First Lady Luncheon
During Blogfest2011, at the Kravet facility, our tour guide pointed out a colorful piece of fabric that was designed by Lily Pulitzer for an upcoming First Lady luncheon. I quickly snapped an image of the fabric and made a mental note to look for pictures of the room later when they were printed in the press. The bold color choice was right in step with the daring fashion moves that Mrs. Obama often makes. Absolutely love her for that! I also felt fortunate to have a little inside information about such a historical event. There is truly a lot of care and consideration that goes into the events in the First Lady's life. I often find myself wondering how she's taking it. I am sure that she's aware of the history and importance of the events in which she attends, but to live and do so many things that first ladies have done for centuries has got to be amazing! To my surprise, I couldn't find very many images from the event online. Even my favorite Obama source - Mrs-O.org didn't cover the event. So, I was elated, when I found these images of the event captured on the Kravet blog.

This orange color was created especially for the First Lady's Luncheon. As you already know, orange is extremely hot right now. This shows just how connected to the First lady is to fashion trends.
This is the original fabric that I snapped a picture of at the Kravet studio. I love the dandelion color way and thought that this would be lovely.
