Joan Goodwin's New Joy!

Joan Goodwin For Verandah Interiors
For Joan Goodwin, it does not seem as though it has been 20 years since she started her design firm, Verandah Interiors. A lot has happened during this time.  She has both grown her business and is now nationally know for her excellence in interior design. If you think she is ready to retire after all of her success, think again!  This award-winning designer is energized and ready for the future of interior design.

While in New York, I had the opportunity to sit down with Joan for dinner at Blue Fin.  The restaurant location was chosen after Joan exclaimed, “Let’s try something new!” There was ‘something new’ on her mind all night.  During dinner she shared her new plans for staying fresh and relevant in a design world that is constantly evolving:

I am updating my website for 2011, and have grown to appreciate the importance of great images in this digital age.
Although I am not sure about starting one, I am following several blogs now. I find it amazing how fast ideas and information can be shared.
This year, I am seeking out newer, innovative vendors and resources.  It is easy to design the same way you have for years, using the same showrooms.  However, this year, I am bringing fresh, new products and ideas to my clients.
The highlight of my year will be a trip to Europe, where I have plans to visit Paris, Rome and Venice. The trip is not to source anything but, rather, to renew and revitalize as I prepare for the Next 20 years.

I absolutely love Joan's as a designer - Her aesthetic and artistic POV is fascinating! She simply just has a flair for design that somehow always ends with a one two punch of Wow & Fabulous. Thank you Joan for your talent.

fabulous styles by a fabulous woman, keep doing what you are doing I love your design styles.

  3. Working with Joan is a unique experience..... get ready for the ride that she has named a "journey". Her creative ideas flow as fast and furious as eating an ice cream cone on a hot summer's day. She's not one for settling for the ordinary, but for gently, "with a big smile," nugging the client to strive for the extraordinary. She has a talent for clearly understanding one's dream for their room/home, then guiding them in taking their concept up a notch into a truly amazing & fantastic reality!
