Always a Classic...

If you are anything like me, your favorite time of the month is when I receive new magazines in the mail. It doesn't matter what kind of day I’m having, when I pull them out of the mail, I feel happy. One such day was the day that I received the February, 2011 issue of Architectural Digest with Ralph Lauren on the cover (my subscription to AD is recurring since I vowed in 2002 to support Margaret Russell in all her endeavors for being so nice to me some time ago). The story was so inspiring. Not only has he built an amazingly beautiful flagship store in Manhattan, but the creation of this store is the realization of a dream. The passion that he put into building the store is why, at 5:30pm on my last day in the city, I hailed a cab and went to see the store for myself.

There were two things about this experience that I will never forget. One is the beauty of the store and the attention to detail, the chandeliers are simply to die for. The second is the beauty of the people working there. My experience at the store that evening is one of the best that I have had in New York. The staff was so helpful and generous with their time. As we wandered from floor to floor marveling at the space, the sales associates welcomed us with more insight and more information about the site, the collections and Ralph Lauren himself. One of the associates, Loretta Hamilton was especially wonderful and for that, I am so grateful. If you are ever in New York, or find yourself touring the country looking at beautiful design, stop by the Ralph Lauren Madison Avenue Store. Not only will you feel like you are in a palace, but you will be treated like royalty by the staff.
