The Gordon Community and Cultural Center Grand Opening

"Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."- Martin Luther King Jr.

Today as we celebrate the King Holiday and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., I would like to  recognize a project that is dear to my heart. The opening of Gordon Community and Cultural Center in Abbeville, Mississippi.  The center has been renovated and will re-open today as a job training facility and elderly social center. I am excited to see the center finally opening its doors.  I know it will be a great asset to the community. It is located in my hometown and was actually the head start center, which I attended as a child. My family and many volunteers have been working on this project for several months. I had the opportunity to stop by and lend a hand (and a little design advice) to the project while I was home last month.  Today is a national  day of service.  There are project just like this going on in communities all around the country. Kimberly and Cameron Inc. is over joyed to be able to serving our community through various community based projects. We salute all of you who are taking to the streets today to make our world a better place.
