The Atlantic in Atlantic Station : A Return To Glamour

In 2008, when I was in Miami previewing the new Gansevoort Hotel, I met a journalist in the cab ride to South Beach, who invited me to join her for the tour. After touring the building and having a few cocktails on the rooftop, she asked me what I thought of the building. I had been in Miami several times that year and recall thinking that the last thing Miami needed was yet another luxe contemporary hotel. I opted against telling her how tired I was of sleeping low to the floor (courtesy of platform beds with sharp edges) and paying 300 dollars a night for a white room with a yellow chair (a minimalist’s dream!). Instead, I offered my thoughts of the future style of hotels and condos more so heading in the direction of old Hollywood glamour or having a mid-Century modern feel. I received an email from her recently telling me that I was right regarding the design trends of living space. It is shifting to a more art d├ęcor-inspired motif with touches of glamour.
The Atlantic is a condominium development in Atlanta’s Atlantic station that is right on trend with this movement. The art-deco inspired lobby is warm and welcoming. The building adds style and sophistication to in-town condo living. I hope that visitors to the building take time to marvel at the detail that has gone into creating the space. No, I am not employed by STK, the residential arm of the Starwood Group and new owners of this building. I am just saying that if you need a cure for your condo design, I would definitely take a tour of this building.
